| The
Shifty Sailors, after nearly 10 years of performing to
enthusiastic crowds in the Puget Sound Region, expanded their
horizons and toured this August 2003 in the Baltic Region of Europe.
Their
three-week tour took them through six countries, beginning in
Estonia and ending in Denmark.
The
main reason for the tour was the Cutty Sark Tall Ship Races which
were held in four Baltic cities: G'dynia, Poland; Turku, Finland;
Riga, Latvia and Luebeck, Germany.
Two
years ago six Shifty Sailors attended a Tall Ship event in Bergen,
Norway. Their experience was so rewarding that the whole group,
with wives and friends, returned to Europe this past summer to
once again entertain the crews of over 100 sailing vessels participating
in the races.
The
Shifty Sailors performed in ten different cities (including five
national capitals) and were a part of the Tall Ship festivities
in both Riga, Latvia (August 10th to 13th) and Luebeck, Germany
(August 21st to 24th).
